Most cruise visitors spend all their holiday time in Sultanahmet, home to İstanbul’s main sightseeing attractions: the church of Aya Sofya, the greatest legacy of the Byzantine Empire; the Topkapı Palace, heart of the Ottoman Empire; and the massive Sultanahmet Camii (Blue Mosque). Here also are the ancient Hippodrome, the Museum of Turkish and Islamic Art (housed in the former Palace of İbrahim Paşa), the eerily lit Yerebatan Sarnıcı, a fascinating Byzantine underground cistern, and the Grand Bazaar (Kapalı Çarşı), the largest covered bazaar in the world.
The monumental architecture, attractive parks and gardens, street-side cafés, and the benefits of a relatively traffic-free main road combine to make this area pleasant for both sightseeing and staying on an MSC Mediterranean cruise excursion. İstanbul’s Ottoman-era Grand Bazaar gets more than its fair share of souvenir-hungry visitors.
The area around it, however, is relatively little explored, which is a shame as it holds some very worthwhile attractions, from the historic Cembirlitaş Hamamı, one of the best Turkish baths in the country, to the city’s very best mosque, the hilltop Süleymaniye Camii. The best single reason to head across to the Asian shore of the city is to experience a Bosphorus cruise. The views from the Bosphorus are superb, with domes and minarets dominating the skyline of the Old City, and skyscrapers the business districts beyond Beyoğlu.

Sortir de l'O-3 au niveau de l'intersection pour l'E-5/O-1 puis prendre l'O-1 jusqu'à Besiktas et sortir sur le boulevard Barbaros. Gardez la droite à la fin du boulevard, et continuez tout droit pendant environ 10 minutes. Quand vous atteindrez la rue Meclis-i Mebusan, le port sera sur votre gauche.
Depuis le continent asiatique : Prendre l'O-1 pour franchir le pont et prenez la première sortie après le pont "Besiktas" qui vous conduit sur le boulevard Barbaros. Gardez la droite à la fin du boulevard, et continuez tout droit pendant environ 10 minutes. Quand vous atteindrez la rue Meclis-i Mebusan, le port sera sur votre gauche.
Il y a 2 aéroports à Istanbul, l'Aéroport d'Istanbul (côté européen) et l'Aéroport Sabiha Gokcen (côté asiatique).
L'Aéroport d'Istanbul est situé à environ 50 km (30 miles) du Galataport Istanbul. Il y a un service de tramway de 06h00 à minuit / un service souterrain reliant l'aéroport d'Istanbul à Gayrettepe. De Gayrettepe, un taxi de 10 minutes (environ 8 km / 5 miles) vous amènera au Galataport. Il y a également une station de taxis juste devant le bâtiment de l'aéroport d'Istanbul, qui prendra environ 1 heure pour rejoindre le port de croisière (la durée peut varier en fonction de la circulation).
L'Aéroport Sabiha Gokcen est situé à environ 45 km (28 miles) du Port Galataport. Il y a un service de tramway de 06h00 à minuit / un service souterrain reliant l'aéroport Sabiha Gokcen à Ayrilikcesmesi. De Ayrilikcesmesi, il faut changer de métro en direction de Sirkeci. De Sirkeci, il faut à nouveau changer de tramway en direction de Tophane, qui se trouve à proximité du Galataport à distance de marche. Il y a également une station de taxis juste devant le bâtiment de l'aéroport, qui prendra environ 1 heure pour rejoindre le port de croisière (la durée peut varier en fonction de la circulation).
Veuillez noter que le port de croisière Galataport se trouve du côté européen de la ville.
